Letter to Col. Ward from officers concerning Brig. Commissary June 9th 1862

                                                                        (Camp 38th Regt. N.Y.S.V.)

To Col. J. H. Hobart Ward Comg. 2nd Brigade

We the officers of your command respectfully represent that the Company Sergeant Commissary of subsistence of this Brigade neglects his duty, insomuch that he makes no provision whatever towards supplying the officers with the necessary stores of subsistence he is required to keep for such purpose.

That the officers have suffered for the want of stores

We therefore earnestly desire that the Col. Commanding will may require said Commissary of Subsistence to procure such articles as the government furnishes for our subsistence in order that we may not be (?) by his suffer for the necessities of life.
