Dear Gus & Ed,

            Mr. Brown was up here to see me last Saturday (July 14) and said he had found a place for me to learn a harness makers trade in Stamford and wanted me to take it but as you thought I was not strong enough for a trade and as I was unwilling to learn the trade he wanted me to write and see what you could do for me and take the responsibility of providing for me so that I shall not be out of money to support me.  So I want you to look around and see if there is any place up there I can get and write immediately.
