The 108th New York Volunteer Infantry, “Rochester Regiment”, was recruited in July and August , 1862, at Rochester, N. Y. Mustered in, Aug. 10 - 18, 1862, for three years. Oliver H. Palmer, Colonel; C. J. Powers, Lieutenant - Colonel; and George B. Force, Major.

Left the State, August 18. Served in the Defenses of Washington, Department of the Potomac, from August 21, ‘62. 2nd Brigade, 3rd division, 2nd Corps, Army of the Potomac, from Sept. 6, 1862. 3rd Brigade, 2nd Division, 2nd Corps, Army of the Potomac, from Mar. 25, 1864.
