Front - 62 NEW YORK INFANTRY. (ANDERSON ZOUAVES) 3 BRIGADE, 3 DIVISION, 6 CORPS. JULY 2, 1863. 7:15 P. M. THIS REGIMENT PARTICIPATED WITH THE ARMY OF THE POTOMAC IN ALL ITS CAMPAIGNS, AS WELL AS IN SHERIDAN'S CAMPAIGN IN THE SHENANDOAH VALLEY, 1864.
Reverse - ON THE SITE OF THIS MONUMENT THE REGIMENT, UNDER COMMAND OF LIEUT. COL. T. B. HAMILTON, CHARGED THE ENEMY AND RECAPTURED TWO GUNS.
