These records are contained in the New York State Adjutant General’s Annual Report, Serial No. 8. These records occasionally contain errors or omit important information. Note, for example, there is no mention that Amos Gibbs was a sergeant or that he was wounded during the Chancellorsville campaign and at Gettysburg. Persons interested in finding more definitive information about these or other members of the Battery should apply for the soldiers’ military records and pension application files from the National Archives and Records Administration in Washington, D.C.
