This silk swallowtail guidon in the U.S. National pattern includes 38 gold-colored, painted stars in the canton and red, white and blue silk ties. The flag also includes the regiment's numeric designation painted in the upper half and crossed cannons painted in the lower half. The regiment originally formed in 1806 as an artillery battalion.
