58th Regiment, New York National Guard

The following is taken from New York in the War of the Rebellion, 3rd ed. Frederick Phisterer. Albany: J. B. Lyon Company, 1912.

This regiment (five companies) then located in Livingston county, now not in existence, commanded by Col. Reuben P. Wisner, was mustered in the service of the United States for a period of 100 days, August 27, 1864; it served at Elmira, and with it two companies of the 50thMilitia, and was there mustered out December 2, 1864.

It lost by death, of disease, two enlisted men.
